Ideal Qualities: Organized, detail-oriented, a good listener, clear communicator, and comfortable using online tools.

Time Commitment: ~4–5 hrs/week.

Treasurer

About the Role:
The Treasurer is our financial steward, responsible for keeping our chapter’s funds safe, organized, and in compliance with Surfrider’s guidelines. You’ll provide transparent reports to the Executive Committee and help ensure our resources are used effectively to support our mission.

Ideal Qualities: Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge, attention to detail, integrity, and strong organizational skills.

Time Commitment: ~3–5 hrs/week.

Communications Coordinator

About the Role:
The Communications Coordinator is our storyteller, sharing the chapter’s work through social media, email, and our website to engage volunteers, attract supporters, and amplify our impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and the website.
  • Maintain a photo repository and source imagery for chapter use.
  • Promote volunteer opportunities in coordination with the Volunteer Activity Coordinator.
  • Respond to media inquiries and connect them with the Chair and Vice Chair.

Ideal Qualities: Strong writing and editing skills, creative mindset, tech-savvy, organized, and collaborative.

Time Commitment: ~5–7 hrs/week.

Hold Onto Your Butts Campaign Coordinator
